This year the WCN Fall Expo, which usually takes place in San Francisco, will be held virtually on two consecutive Saturdays, October 10 and October 17, 8am-2pm PT. If you’ve ever wanted to attend, but traveling to California wasn’t possible, here’s your chance to interact with conservationists from around the world. You can learn more about this year’s Expo by visiting the Wildlife Conservation Network’s website.

Dr. Jackson and Ashleigh Lutz-Nelson will be speaking at the event on Saturday, October 17 at 10:30am PT. To learn more click here.

“Expo is an annual event that welcomes you into the vast, thrilling world of wildlife conservation. Because this has been a year like no other, WCN and its partners are bringing you a special Expo experience where you’ll embark on an adventure filled with unprecedented stories from conservationists in the field. Expo will reach further than ever before by going virtual, safely connecting people from San Francisco to Nairobi to Argentina and beyond. There are so many tales of hope and resilience to share that this year’s Expo will take place over several days, giving you more time to experience the wild. Throughout Expo, you’ll have the chance to choose your unique wild adventure from the comfort of your living room and connect with wildlife champions from around the world.”

The Conservancy is participating in the annual Paws in the Parking Lot event at the Rock Island County Animal Shelter, Moline, Illinois on Saturday, October 17, 12-3pm. Held as a fundraiser for QC Paws, there will be a Doggie Costume Contest, Vendor & Food Booths, Trunk or Treat, and much more.

We will be celebrating International Snow Leopard Day and will have many wonderful items for you to choose from, including the newly released book “Searching for the Snow Leopard,” our brand new Eco-Friendly Apparel bearing a photographic image from the book, and snow leopard plush.

Stop by our booth and talk with our Outreach Educator, Shavaun, about snow leopard conservation and get your very own autographed copy of “Searching for the Snow Leopard.” We will be adhering to Illinois State health guidelines as will all participants, and any items purchased will be handled with care.

This is an outdoor event so in case of rain it will be held on the following Saturday, October 24, 2020.
