Snow Leopard Sisters is gaining major momentum, with the exciting news that Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way has signed on as Executive Producer, significantly amplifying the film’s global reach and impact.
Featuring Snow Leopard Conservancy’s partner work in Dolpo, Nepal, the film has achieved strong success and continues to do so across various film festivals. On April 23 the film will screen and be honored with the Best Conservation Film award at the REEL Wild Film Festival presented by Wildlife Conservation Society in New York, as well as in Missoula, Montana at the International Wildlife Film Festival where it has been awarded Best of Fest + Feature. It has also recently received strong audience recognition, earning the People’s Choice Award at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival and the Audience Choice Award at the American Conservation Film Festival.

A private screening of Snow Leopard Sisters will be held on April 27 at The Flicks in Boise, Idaho, offering a rare chance to see the film in an intimate theater setting, with tickets still available.

This growing visibility is complemented by meaningful community engagement. At the February 28 Half Moon Bay Odd Fellows event, co-presented by KarmaQuest Ecotourism and Adventure Travel, an audience of over 100 gathered for an inspiring evening of film, art, and conversation. The screening was followed by Q&A with Director Sonam Choekyi Lama, who joined virtually from Kathmandu, Nepal, offering personal insights into the stories, challenges, and impact behind the film. The event also featured artwork by Santa Cruz artist Patricia Johansson, whose pieces deepened the connection between visual storytelling and conservation. Together, the film, discussion, and artwork created a dynamic space to reflect on women-led conservation efforts and the importance of protecting snow leopard landscapes.
These milestones highlight the rising impact of Snow Leopard Sisters, bringing global attention to community-driven conservation and expanding a growing network of engaged supporters for snow leopards and their habitats.
