We’re excited to share that the highly anticipated feature documentary Snow Leopard Sisters premiered at South by Southwest (SXSW) earlier this month, with Snow Leopard Conservancy proudly serving as an Impact Partner. This powerful film highlights the urgent conservation efforts needed to protect these majestic creatures.
Our executive director, Ashleigh Lutz-Nelson, joined the talented filmmakers Ben Ayers, Sonam Choekyi Lama, and Andrew Lynch as well as Tshiring Lhamu Lama – our longtime local partner from Dolpo, Nepal. Tshiring’s pioneering conservation work to protect snow leopards in her home district is not just inspiring, it’s the heart and soul of the film.
The documentary premiered to positive reviews! It earned attention from major outlets like IndieWire (written by a Rotten Tomatoes Top Critic), Screen Zealots (also a Rotten Tomatoes critic), and Screen Daily. The film is drawing notable interest, with Deadline featuring an in-depth video interview with the directors. You can also check out an insightful interview with the crew on Sunshine State Cineplex.
Also, be sure to watch the newly released film clip! It offers a sneak peek into the inspiring journey of Snow Leopard Sisters.
